Yoga Therapy and Polyvagal Theory—An Ongoing Series

In this new workshop we will be exploring the structure of the head, neck and shoulders and how healthy alignment can keep the path of the vagus nerve open to facilitate the most conductivity of information from your body to your brain and back.  We’ll start with some relevant anatomy and then do an asana class with the focus on learning to integrate the head and neck into poses where that can be a challenge, especially backbends and standing poses.  In the second part of the workshop, we’ll experiment with breathing practices designed to bring balance to our systems.  We’ll practice together and share our experiences so we can learn from each other. Depending on which part of the nervous system we are starting from (ventral vagal, sympathetic, or dorsal vagal) we may have differing results from the same practices.  Let’s learn from each other how to fine-tune what we choose to do for ourselves and teach our students.

This workshop assumes some experience with PVT.  If you have not attended any of the previous workshops, contact Marcia for simple ways to get ready.

In-Person and Livestreamed. If you are not able to attend that day you can register and receive the recording.
