Autonomics of Elite Performance

This is a 4-session, 8-teaching-hour Autonomics course with Natureza Gabriel (Founder of Hearth Science & author of The Neurobiology of Connection) and Jordhynn Guy CCC, Developer of the Elite Resilience Framework, that will take a deep-dive into the neurophysiology of elite performance.

Elite performance, be it in the boardroom, on the stage, or on the court is largely a function of our ability to optimize, in realtime, the way that the Autonomic Nervous System responds to the pressure of performing. To unlock truly elite performance we need to learn how to keep our Connection Systems online in the midst of high-pressure situations, balancing the high-level activation and endogenous releases of adrenaline and cortisol that typically accompany high-stakes situations with the production of oxytocin and the neurologically coordinating physiology of connection.

Elite athletes, and elite performers of all kinds tend to do this both somewhat intuitively, and through training, but we would contend that understanding the precise neurophysiological drivers of these states, and how to work with them in the present moment, provides a doorway to unlocking unprecedented breakthroughs in individual and team performance.

This class will look closely at what it takes to unlock elite performance both through the lens of autonomic physiology pedagogy, and practice.

Our goal here is to demystify the neurophysiology of elite performance.

This course should be useful for anyone interested in experiencing or teaching elite performance in any domain of practice from the board to the boardgame, the court to the courtroom.
